Vineyards
The vineyards around Rians are recommended a visit. Of course, first and foremost Chateau Vignelaure where I (Victoria) have worked for 7 years. Chateau Vignelaure is one of Provence’s most famous wineries and makes fantastic red storage wines, white wines and rosé wines. You can book both a guided tour and a wine tasting at Chateau Vignelaure. Also visit La Réaltière, Chateau Pigoudet, Domaine de Toulon, Mongestine and Chateau Revelette – all around Rians.
You can also visit the vineyards of Châteauneuf-du-Pape with their elegant and exquisite Côtes-du-Rhone wines, but also Gigondas (red powerful wines) and Beaume de Venise, which produce delicious and not too sweet dessert wines (Muscat wine).
You can stop at any vineyard in Provence. This is how the French themselves buy their wines. Of course, you can ask to try the wine, but it is considered polite to buy a couple of bottles in such cases. Don’t forget to try the rosé wine for which Provence is especially known! Great as an aperitif in the sunshine or to a good seafood dish.
